Known as "The bagel place" in our house, my toddler has declared these the best bagels. I love that they have regular menu items and then menu items that change every week.
Overall - 5/5 - I have been wanting to try this little gem since the day they opened and I regret not trying them sooner. Today I visited with my partner and we both ordered the "Sweet Baby Jesus". With an simple but pleasurable atmosphere you will get delicious food with fast & friendly service. I recommend From Scratch for anyone looking for a good bagel or brunch spot. I will definately be back. Food - 5/5 - On todays order we both ordered off their Chef Menu and got the "Sweet Baby Jesus" burger. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger as it was juicy, the bacon was perfectly done and the sauces added a nice mixture of flavour. Only thing that would have made the burger better for me would be to have some fries with it but they do offer chips, which I will have to try in the future. Service - 4/5 - Service is to be expected from a Bistro styled restauraunt. Upon entering, we ordered our food at the counter and had a seat. They brough us our food pretty quickly after ordering. Service is simple but friendly. Atmosphere - 5/5 - I enjoyed the decor at From Scratch. They showcase local artists, in which you can buy the artwork. Store is easy to navigate, and not over crowded. I seen they offer a Patio which I will have to check out on my next visit. I also really like that they offer prepaid meals for people in need of a meal.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful Terra and James were to work with for our Laurier graduate student conference. Everyone was so impressed with the food! They listened to all our needs, worked with our budget, and came up with grazing table breakfast and lunch menus that were perfect for networking and snacking throughout the day. In fact, I’m going to be attending another Laurier event today and their planners were at our event, wishing they had listened when I suggested they contact From Scratch. I was so busy making sure all was going well that I neglected to take photos when the food was first set out and available, but the one image I’m posting was of the gluten free, chicken tacos. Just ordered from this place on uber eats and it was way better than what i expected. I got a buffalo chicken wrap and i loved that it had a generous amount of dressing and this has gotta be one of the best chicken wrap i’ve tried in brantford (and i’m really picky with food) I also got a crack bar, this was good too i have no complaints. It’s a sweet cookie brownie like dessert. Lastly got a pumpkin spice latte, their pumpkin spice syrup had a really weird slimey texture but i called to check and one of their employees said that it’s normal because they make it from scratch I would def get food from them again
Ran in to quickly grab a bagel and drink between jobs. The cherry lemonade was fresh and perfect, not to sweet or sour. Finished most of it before my bagel was ready. The bagel itself was perfect, lots of cheese and jalepeno chunks, toasted perfectly and just the right amount of butter. Will definitely need to go back asap and try one of their full meals
I went to Brantford for a gathering, and my girlfriend suggested we try our Scratch Cafe Bistro. This restaurant is absolutely amazing and the food has that homemade feeling with every bite. Their food is made from scratch and was very delicious. We had the Salmon Bagel, and a Chicken Salad. I wasn't finished there, I always wanted to try an authentic Chicken Pot Pie so I decided to buy it and it was a 10/10 and something you should definitely get. In all everything was packed with flavor and fresh. The staff were so friendly and conversed with all of their customers and made sure our needs were met. What I appreciated most is that they help the Homeless by providing free meals. I wish more restaurants could do this and help those who are in need. Overall you definitely should try From Scratch Cafe Bistro.
Absolutely love this place!! I love to go here for lunch, it's refreshing that they do weekly menu changes. But I have to give this place the biggest shoutout when it comes to their family meal Fridays. We've gotten 3 meals from here and it's the definition of soul food. Not only does the food taste Absolutely delicious but the customer service is also incredible. 10/10 you best bet my family will keep coming back to this place. You guys honestly rock!
First time coming to this gem of a place in Brantford! The food is so delicious! We had the 3 tacos( 2 beef and pork) and the featured bagel sandwich! Menu changes every week. The company's owner, Terra is such a wonderful warm welcoming person to her customers. The place itself has a patio in the back which is so cute and private! Dog friendly too. If you're in town, make sure to grab a bite to eat here! Also, the drinks are so good! I had their pumpkin cold brew and the lemonade is also delicious. I'd like to mention they have a pay-it-forward board where you can purchase anything from their menu and they'll write it on paper and pin it so that someone who is in need can come in and help themselves to what you have bought for them. Super supportive of their community.
